I had to run and get my phone camera before he left. No idea why he was there.  If only he knew how close he was to something rare and special from the Hertz corporation.  Likely just a millennial though with not a care for such things.  Still, the irony was not lost on me.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Do you think this one will be as collectible as the earlier years ?

Compared to a Prius, quite likely.

You know that one is coming. Just a matter of time.

98SVT - was 06GT

I got excited when this pulled up out front - but then only my new Mini Cooper S that I had traded my vintage Track T race car for came out.

Quite a sight to behold seeing that lettering evoking all kinds of imaginings of Cobras and R models inside...

Larry Miller's truck. I had traded cars with his driver and he dropped off the Mini on his way to the port to pick up a Ford GT that was coming back from Europe.

Wow, that sounds like quite an encounter! I've had a few similar experiences, though none involving anything as unique as a rare Hertz item. It's funny how people can be so close to something special and not even realize it. I once had a young neighbor wander into my yard and almost stumble upon a vintage car part I'd been working on. He had no idea what it was and probably wouldn't have cared if he did! Sometimes I think these moments highlight the differences in interests and knowledge between generations. Did you manage to take a good picture before he left?
