Super rare FACTORY 1965 289 HI-PO K-Code Mustang convertible.

Car was purchased from the original owners estate and was originally sold new & out of North Carolina

Car still wears its original factory color of red paint and has a white top and a black interior

1965 Ford Mustang has not been run/driven in over 30 years and was involved in a hurricane that hit North Carolina decades ago and never came out of the barn after that point so the floor pans, frame rails, torque boxes, inner & outer rocker panels are soft but the rest of the car is actually in nice condition. The interior is in nice condition the trunk is in good condition & the doghouse is in good condition

Car shows 44,187 original miles - Full factory console - power top - Nice!

The car is sold running & driving in and out of a garage (and onto a trailer) but is not street legal by any means - No brakes

I've taken over 50 photos to share with interested parties upon request

Original door tag, all VIN numbers stamped where they should be - one owner factory candy apple red with white top and black interior. January 1965 build

The estate (the grandfather of the gentleman that bought the car new) who has since passed said that the motor (block) was replaced by Ford under warranty and we do see a late 1966 casting and date code on the k- code block - but it appears to have been a short block because it still has the late 1964 hipo distributor and at least one of the original dated heads as well as double groove pulleys the correct fuel pump etc. all the hi-po suspension is still on the car including the rear axle snubbers etc

It's an unbelievably rare opportunity to buy an unrestored original survivor car let alone a factory-documented K-code HI-PO convertible that came from the original owners estate

Car comes with a clean North Carolina title from the original estate

Pay attention because Ford only built 181 K-code Mustang convertibles in 1965
