Yeah, you read the headline right. Ford has patented a system that, per the filing, would use several different sources of information to customize ad content to play in your car. One such information stream that this hypothetical system would use to determine what sort of ads to serve could be could be the voice commands you've given to the car. It could also identify your voice and recognize you and your ad preferences, and those of your passengers. Finally, it could listen to your conversations and determine if it's better to serve you a visual ad while you're talking, or an audio ad when there's a lull in the conversation.

I wouldn't count on it working correctly. My new Lincoln welcomes me as guest most of the time even though I have the fob in my pocket. And CarPlay shows me off in a field traveling backwards most of the time. Pretty disappointed in the electronics on the car.

Sounds like something else that will have to be addressed with Forscan.

WOW, I have Pilot360 in My Maverick and can answer Phone Calls through my Radio but It won't let me see a Text Message, and yet, THIS new thing will show me an actual Visual Commercial while I am Driving?

Wow!  I'm going to need to update 6s843 to fit in with the times.  Can't wait for the social credit system to kick in too.

There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb

I backdated. Henry hasn't built a "normal" car since Farley took over that I would buy. Harley Davidson put him on their board to help prep HD for the electric age. We all saw how well woke HD is doing when the bikers stayed away from the HD display at Sturgis.
I am working on a new engine - the current one fades out at 70mph. I'm building a B block with dual strombergs, hi compression head and Winfield cam - should be 110-120 hp. I bought this OHV engine - too racy for the street. It ran 133 at El Mirage and holds the class record in Australia for the last 20 years.

I was first annoyed with a talking car when I had a Nissan Maxima wagon with a woman voice telling me that the headlights were left on or hand brake need to be released or to put on my seatbelt as soon as I started the car.  Nag, nag, nag. Now they want to tell you where to shop? 8)

I always liked the look of a Stromberg setup.

All the worlds OEMs are trying to monitize the data they have access to.  Patents are filed to make it more difficult for competitors (and for profit should a competitor want to use a similar idea).  Whether or not these patents result in an actual system being used is a different story.  And there is push back on what data is collected, how it is collected and who has access to it.  The primary reason GM is moving away from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is so they don't have to share data with Google.  We will see.
