What can Copart tell you? What paperwork did you receive with the car from the insurance company who held ownership? SAAC as a group typically does not deal with the late model cars such as yours, that right is held with Shelby in Vegas, and while they state they have a registry, they do not publish or offer access to it by owners. In your cars case, you might have a better chance with Team Shelby or potentially tracking down the original selling dealer and/or owner via DMV/MVS records.

The 2010 GT500 was not produced by Shelby. It was built by Ford as were all 2007-2014 unless they were sent to  Shelby American for an upgrade package. The lone exception would be the 2008/2009 GT500KR models.

I agree, your best bet for information on the car would be the Team Shelby site.

Bill is correct your best bet would be to find a way to connect to the original owner. Shelby American may not have been the place who modified the car. Bill is also correct that they don't offer access to the unpublished information that they keep on those cars. I had work done at an authorized Mod Shop with all the information going back to Las Vegas. There is a registry for that generation that allows you to include your car but I don't think you can look cars up but I may be corrected. You might find a thread/post on Team Shelby on this car but doubtful because the website is not what it used to be. - Kevin

Good morning ALE - bulea86

First and foremost welcome to the SAAC forum.

My apologies for not viewing you post on your recently purchased vehicle.

From my unprofessional and amateur observations of the pictures of v.i.n. 1ZVBP8JS8A5133917

Looking at the pictures I believe it does have a KR or a KR type hood.

I looked at the engine compartment searching for a C.S.M. tag . I looked on the interior looking for other identifying items  that would link it to Shelby American in Las Vegas but was not successful in finding anything that would lead me to them.

I don't believe that the good folks at Shelby American can provide you with any additional information as it looks like a Ford SVT GT500, a truly nice car.

You could contact Ford directly or Marti Auto Works that may provide you with additional information on your vehicle.

Best of luck in your journey

Did no see any evidence of any Shelby American tags inside the interior.

Or any C.S.M. tags in the engine compartment

Did find a nice low speedometer with only 14,356 miles

Good things I see are:

The 2010 Shelby GT500 has the upgraded 5.4L V8 making 540HP, with a top speed of 160mph, 510 lb-ft torque, and a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds. All very good

It has the iron block,  some like others dont.

2011 recieved the aluminium block again some like some dont.

As mentioned previously it may have a upgraded SC with a tune, that equal to more horsepwer which is a blessing and a curse.

Another benefit is that year the body changed slightly distinguishing itself away from the 2007-09 stangs.

2010 was a transition in electronics from 07-09 and also different to 2011 and above.

Some have had issue others have not.

Again enjoy your learning experience and journey
