Just came across this recently opened museum in Rhode Island.

It sure looks like it's worth a trip with several galleries including a large one for Shelby & Mustangs. Photos show a 1965 GT350R (and a 2017 GT350R), a '67 GT350 Paxton car, three '68's including a yellow GT500KR convertible (and a 2008 GT500KR) , a 3000 series Cobra, and a Boss 429 and Boss 302, Ford GT, etc. Check out the link for more photos
