Engine ID tag

I have a Ford engine ID tag that has been laying around for a while that is unique and was wondering if any one knew what it is for/from.The tag reads,
C8AF 6009  L
C6AZ AG 427 HP

Looks like the  ID tag that would have been on a service replacement 68 hyd. lifter 427 block i am thinking without looking it up anyway.
