Use of the Stant(?) Griffin Racing Division radiator cap into 66 production?

The above 'sticker' (lacking a better description) is said by the vendor to have been used through the '65 and into the early '66 production.  They are generally quite accurate in their products.  If this is true of this radiator cap top, how far into the line was it observed?

This is not a regular production cap emblem . regular production radiator caps used the regular assemblyline SMCO marked caps . This emblem was used on the caps that some of competition cars used (not everyone). This incorrect description has been around for a couple decades now.

   +1 not used on production cars , The use on "race cars" is even highly speculative and most likely " added" IMHO. These caps were uncommon back in the day . There was a lower pressure racing cap ( also Stant) that was more common but still not OEM on Shelby built cars. I've never seen one of these offered in a SAI catalog.
