To All;
Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have installed a 1968 428 engine with C80E heads , a Edelbrock 4 BBL intake and repo Cobra Jet exhaust manifolds from NPD in a 1968 Mustang convertible.
The right exhaust manifold touches the top of the frame.
Car has not been wrecked and I believe I have the correct motor mounts.
What is the standard clearance and can you advise me as to what I am doing wrong?
Thank you in advance for any help.
regards
JES

Are you sure you have the correct motor mounts?

Do you have gaskets between the manifolds and heads?

Yes sir, I have a gasket between the head and exhaust manifold.
Also, I will check about L & R plates that fasten to block
What would be the average normal clearance between manifold and frame?
Thank you so much for your help

Gee, he has a 1967 car?

We are going to complain about a legit post, when we have yahoos posting about pianos and endlessly copying pictures off the internet.

Lets get our priorities in order...

3/8" at the closest point between the ex manifold and the frame on my car, which has CJ heads and CJ exhaust manifolds. No gasket between the exhaust manifold and the head. I would start with the motor mounts and see if something is off there.

Actually I was wrong. It belongs in the Lounge. It's for a 68 Mustang.

It's not a legit post in the 67 Shelby section of the forum.

You know they are correct, it's a 1968 and it's a mustang not a shelby.

So in this case due to the specific details or terms belonging to this particular field, this topic should be moved into the lounge.
