A pillar question

Was the windshield pillar post painted black (my interior color) with the dash? how far up? did all shelbys in 68 come with the padded pillar pad. i took my car apart in 04 and finally painting it.

No, all 1968s did not have A Pillar pads. They were discontinued during the year. Cars without A pillar pads were painted interior color up to the headliner clips.
