Is this pic and measurement (3.75") accurate for an early car with the chrome trim around the top?  I have a 67 GT 500 if that makes difference.
Thanks
Ron

Update:
Do you guys think this system is going to hang too low?   Ordered some tips that I think will work.  More pics next week.

The tips stick out on cars with a factory original exhaust system the same regardless of if early or late. That is because the OEM exhaust turn out pipes have a transition towards the end that acts like a stop when sliding the tips on over the turnout pipe. The factory pushed them on as far as they would go and that was the stopping point. Since humans are doing it there is a little variance but typically all the same . On a made from scratch system like you are doing there is no such stop so you have to wing it as far as how much you want them to stick out. The picture JD did that you posted is as good as any to copy to show how far they stick out.

Awesome.  That its what I needed to know.  Thanks Bob!  And JD, thank you for the pic.  Is that your car?
I collected a library full of pics for this restoration and do not always remember where they came from.
