My source for the rolls of what they called Butyl caulk tap  has changed,  doesny one have a source for the correct thickness  believe its 5/16  in.  the gooey black stuff

I used to get it from Napa.  It was 3M Window-Weld brand.  Looks to be readily available.

If you are using a reproduction windshield, you may want to consider using the 3/8" butyl tape because the glass is thinner and it can cause the trim to sit lower than original.
