So... what to do with this steering wheel? Repair or replace?

Referrals on a repair shop?
Is it just a "replace" deal?

Advice or recommendations sought..... thanks

The repaired rim will not look as good as the the good repros currently available. They look very close to NOS ones I have had. This is especially true if your brushed and chrome portion on the to be repaired rim isn't in perfect condition.  Call Brant at Virginia .

Ron,

In my 40 years of doing this stuff, I have never seen a restoration/repair of these wheels that looks really close to the original and/or holds up. At one time though, someone was taking the original cores and putting sections of real wood on them. They were really nice, but not like original. I don't know anyone currently doing that now anyway.

I have been quite impressed with the one that we handle now. The grain and finish is almost exactly like the original. They come complete less the cap. The original cap can be used, or I have a super nice USA made reproduction of that also.

Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

We have used these wheels on multiple cars and have been very pleased. To address another comment in the thread, the horn works just fine. It's just like the original...lots of adjustment to get all three points to work. If you have experience with those, you will know what I mean.
