The colors of the SN60 series blower housings did change  through the 1960s.  Craig Conley may have the exact time frame.  I believe a few of the early 1960 models were black.  Then they were blue in 1966, white in 1967-68, then black again.  The re-introduction units in the late 1970s came in blue or red.  Other colors could be ordered.  A lot of records were lost when then Santa Monica shop had a fire in the early 1970s(?).  However, the staff did make some notes by memory of some of the data.

If the OP has the complete kit of blower, air filter canister, pulley, pulley tensioner, etc., this would be  a great item for soemone who wants to add some extra vintage power to a 69-70 GT350.

1967 used blue from factory, looks like a later over the counter unit.

Red >>> was McCulloch colors for years, when name changed to Paxton, early red units resprayed to black, have an original "S" here.
Black
Blue
white.
There are several pics of paxtons herein the site , just reflect back.

BTW, hoses were a grayish color, not black, if that happens to comes up.
Paxtom label was on quite a few units, even marked with a S.

sixx7 shelby, I agree with you

I hope I'm not muddying the waters, there are many here who know way more, if so I will cease & desist  ;)  just posting things

from my files for reference. This was I think on forum 1, the info with the image says this is from 6S349, according to my 2019

edition of the '66 registry Craig Conley installed a Paxton on it in 1993, Don't know what  year that Paxton was made ?

#2354 has the original orange/chrome foil Paxton label on its original blue supercharger which was installed at LAX factory..... not the common seen "cobra supercharged" white/blue label.

I have noticed more of the red Paxton foil decals on original unrestored blowers than the COBRA decals (restored units typically have the COBRA decal).  I have a few nos supercharger kits with 66-67 dated blowers and they all have the red Paxton decal, all painted blue and have COBRA carb boxes.  The SHELBY lettered carb boxes were '68-70.  All blower units are date coded.  I have never seen an original blower unit with the COBRA decal on it, not saying they weren't produced...maybe late '65?.

Pre 1966 blower units were black, 66-67 were blue, and 68-70 were white.  The SN-60 blower units provided to Studebaker were painted orange.

I'm sure Craig Conley has the exact info we are discussing.

Craig Conley at Paradise Wheels in San Diego is your go to guy on these. I think he the tooling and manufacturing rights for the Shelby units. The rest of Paxton is now owned by Vortech.

This is from 2012 on a different site:
For those who own a Paxton SN, VR, or VS Series supercharger, you've probably come to realize that Paxton Automotive no longer services or supports these superchargers. When the Granatelli family sold their interest in Paxton Superchargers, the rights to the original ball-drive superchargers did not pass on to Paxton Automotive which is why they refuse to service these units.

The majority of service and parts support for Paxton ball-drive superchargers has, over the last several years, been handled by Craig Conley at Paradise Wheels.

Paradise Wheels has recently moved to a new location, and their contact information is as follows:

Ok, I have an original "S" blower ending in 12146 that I thought was the date code. Painted red with a red Paxton label. I got it with a Shelby air box. Could Paxton have repainted it if it was sent there for repairs possibly?

The blower date you have appears to be December 14, 1966.  It is very possible it was repainted at some time in it's life and a new decal applied.  Over time, S/C components could've been pieced together to make up a complete kit.

There were a couple different red "Paxton SuperCharger" decals produced.  The early decals were made of a shiny foil material and the later version was a matte vinyl material.

Over the counter Paxton units were the colors that George noted for the years posted.  However, special order from the factory could have them in other colors.  When I visited in the late 80s, Vince Granatelli at the Santa Monica shop showed me various ones, old and new  that were in a variety of colors, some were special customer orders.
At that time they were pushing mostly red and black in the the catalog for classic Mustangs.  With so many set ups for different cars all over the entry room and around the shop and warehouse, it was hard to for me discern what went for what engine.  But he reviewed my set up which I had purchased used to add to my 66 GT350.

As mentioned a few times previously, the OP would do well to work with Craig Conley to find out what he has and what other parts that he may have that are included with the full package. 8)
Just nuts.

In the late 70s I loaned him some SB Ford brackets to copy as they had lost the original molds for the castings.

Not sure about custom ordered colors?
Just know have two untouched units, that even have ford script air filters and original clamps;
S/B AC Cobra's had about a 4 inch alum metal piping made up that angled around to go to the nose of a cobra.
An elaborate pictorial, of most of this, was on the old site, maybe some remember, which depicted the units here.

Current Pictures, somewhere on the site, do show the bluish color of the rubber hose.
I always thought that was weird, but after seeing era & dated pictures, it became obvious.
I think those are on the site, think I sent those pictures to somebody at the site a few months ago?
Can't exactly remember, have has serious problems that place all else way down the list.

I have asked this before, why can't a Mcculloch/Paxton designated topic area be formed????????????????????
Respectfully,
John

I have the 1966 Paxton assembly drawings and part schematics in pdf form if someone needs. I posted on this forum I think, but can do so again. It's on a different computer and I can get to it this weekend....

Don Johnston

It would be great to be able to download the drawings.  Thanks. 8)
