I just purchased a 1970 GT500 and would like to know if there is a documented list of what was done to these vehicles as part of the 69 -> 70 process.

My car is very original but need to make sure I get all the correct items accounted for.

Thanks in advance !

Let me start...

The carb was modified, a manual choke added

The distributor was changed

A front spoiler was added

Flat black hood stripes were painted on

The warranty plate was removed and a new Vin was added to the door and dash

Hi Blackjade,

Welcome to the fold.

I'd recommend that, if you don't already have one, get a copy of the most recent SAAC Registry for these cars. Many of the revisions are mentioned and that should serve a a great starting point. After that, spend a few days reading through the '69/'70 section of this forum to get acquainted with some of our members, then reach out to those members with specific questions. Several are judges and highly regarded authorities with decades of personal and collaborative research. They may have some bandwidth in their schedules to answer a specific question, but be patient. Many of us enthusiasts, who are DIYers may be able to answer some of your questions, based on personal observations.

As Coralsnake alludes, post pictures of what you question. It'll help with clarity and specificity.

Here is a thread that may have some information to help:

Good luck with your research.

Thanks all. I appreciate the advice and feedback.

I've been a  member of SAAC since 86, and have had several Boss 429s and 302s but this is my first early Shelby. I've been going to as many conventions as possible, and participated in Concourse and open track at quite a few.

Very much looking forward to the challenge and partnership on my journey!
