Hi to all in SAAC land,
Would really like to know if anyone out there has pictures from the auto show in 1966  even if they are black and white.... Where were you in the last week of Oct. or first week of Nov. 1966??
if you ever went to the Pan Pacific it would be awesome to see photos...Thanks in advance
R.R.

I was probably there - as a newly licensed driver (July 66). I went to any/everything cars but wasn't into picture taking. Here is a shot of Disney's CA Adventure whose gate copied the Pan Pacific entrance. I remember the owners wanted to tear it down but the city balked saying they wanted to preserve the historic site. The owners countered with a mysterious fire.

RR, Not sure if you have seen these photos.
The first photo here shows the 66 Mustang Mach 1 concept and the Allegro concept in the background. (No signs of any Shelby's)

EDIT: This is the 1967 LA auto show, not 1966. Sorry about that! I got excited by the Mach 1 concept.

This second photo is said to be at LA but the background doesn't exactly look the same.

EDIT; This is the 1966 LA Auto Show.
Hey at least the female model took her spike heel shoes off before getting in the back seat!

Steve McDonald Formally known as Mcdonas

I think they up'ed the budget slightly since then
Owned since 1971, NOW DRIVEN OVER 250,000 MILES, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎

The upper shot is probably a 1967 show with 1968 cars. The lower one looks to be 66 with 67 cars (no side light?)

You're correct sir...my mistake.
Sometimes I'm so focused on the backgrounds I missed the obvious ("68 signs everywhere and the sidelight/reflectors)

Easy to do - shapes were the same in 67-68. The Tbird in the 67 photo is a twin for the one I traded for 6S843 in 1975.
