Original 427 Cobra Door CSX 3124

I have the original door of CSX 3124 with minor damage that was replaces in the 80s  and you can see the 124 as well as the original white paint. The owner of CSX 3124 was offered this door first and doesnt want to reunite it with the car after all these years. Your chance to own a real door off a real car to hang in your mancave or put on an original car that needs it

I would submit that the door is from 2124 not 3124. That is a leaf spring Cobra door, not a coil spring door.

A three digit stamps was used on doors and opening latches on cars up to the 22xx cars. After that four digits were used.

Notice the support strap on the center ferrule for the side curtains? 427's lack that support strap. You can see this if you search photos of csx3042 and others.

If you look at your photo near the inside latch, you'll notice what appears to be blue paint which is the original color of 2124.

While it's possible that "left over" leaf spring parts were used on early 427, I still think it's a leaf spring door

+1 427 Cobra door frames dropped the reinforcement at the center pin socket.

As always. I side with the experts.  but no sign of White paint in CSX 2124s early life according to registry
