This car sure has had a few "interesting" owners
1- Shelby
2 - the guy that owned Russkit model company
3 - Specter
4 - his bodyguard
5 - bodyguards daughter - committed suicide when she lit herself and pet bunny on fire
6 - daughters friend who had it stolen out of storage by the mother of #5
7 - Dr Simmone who bought the car from the mother through a broker and is rumored to have had to spend 2 million more to get a clear title from #6.
Previous owner 6S843 - GT350H & 68 GT500 Convert #135.

A nut by all accounts, no doubt about that. While there is no disputing his significant contributions to the music industry, there was definitely more than one screw loose with that one.

wow, I guess it is at least a little sad that a "larger than life" guy in the music industry is gone... but he sure seemed to have some issues.

for clarity, IIRC - the car is now "owned" by the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum... it is my understanding that the good Doctor donated his entire collection, built the Museum, and gave it an endowment.

Lots of tax advantages to that method and you own the foundation. The Wrigley family owns the non-profit Catalina Island Conservancy (the whole island except Avalon). They take in all the money for tours etc and at the end of the year divide it up among the family members as salary for sitting on the board. The island was bought in the 20s or 30s by Wrigley (the gum guy) and used as the training venue for his baseball team the Chicago Cubs. He also owned a mansion in Pasadena and gave that to the Rose Parade group for the tax dodge.

A product of the 1960s... He refused to put the bong down, pipe, needle, bottle, or gun. Killing a girlfriend and ending his long run of strangeness. Very odd and sad tale to the master of music. :-\
