Anyone Successful Running 225/70R-14?

Time to start thinking about new tires since the current ones are 11 years old.

Currently running 205/70R-14 BFG T/A's on the original 10-spokes, would like to push that to the tallest and widest tire I can get away with w/o rubbing. I'm guessing 225/70R-14 might be it. I know I can use 235/60R-14 with no problems as I've used those in the past but would like a taller tire if possible. A-arms are lowered and fender lips rolled, both leftovers from it's racing days, probably a give and take there.

Any thoughts or opinions appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave, I am running 215/70/14 BFG TAs on my original 10 spokes without issue. All stock. It's not the 225 but it's been fine for me and not close to rubbing.
Not sure about 225s

Thanks Trent, good to know at least the 215 will work. According to the tire sizing charts the 225 is 0.5" taller and 0.4"wider than the 215.

No worries. They look good. Someone else might have details on using the 225s

Any pics on how they look? No rub?

A couple of pictures 6S1134, running 225/60/14's, with 1" lowered front suspension.  No problems with rubbing while driving, but can rub while turning exiting a steep driveway and turning right or left.

6S264: I'm running 225/60-15 BFGs with lowered Chris Alston suspension. BUT... the fender lips are rolled, AND... I still get fender rub during turn+dip scenarios. NOT ideal but I try to be careful.
