Write-up:
For sale is an original 1966 Cobra. This car was made for the English market. It is RH drive model. Very few of these were made. It is a 427 chassis with a 289 HP engine, factory installed. I have been the owner for the last 40 years. I have all the factory documents and paper work. It is red now, but it was originally green. It was featured in the 1966 London Auto Show.
Included is the very rare, original hard top and the original soft top. It is very low mileage (43K). It is started on a regular basis. It is is fine running condition.
As the picture shows, it has Halibrand Sunburst pin drive wheels, but I also have the original wire wheels and spline drives. The VIN is COB6113.
The car is located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
This post will be removed when the vehicle has been sold. Please feel free to call or email with any questions.

Just my personal opinion, strong ask for it's neglected condition.
Instead of being part of the problem, be part of a successful solution.

I don't know, it does have the super rare "Giant Teddy Bear" option and doesn't appear to have a signed glove box.

It always baffles me when someone has a $$$$$$$$$$ car for sale, and he decides to choose Craigslist for the listing.

Maybe I'm wrong and it'll sell as an impulse buy to someone looking to find a cheap commuter car, fondue pot, macrame plant holder, or a chihuahua dog bed.

I  Thought that Gerry had sold that car about 15 to 20 years ago when he sold his GT 40. I have known him for close to 45 years now and back in the day  he even used to drive a Lola on the street. He has owned a few Shelby's and some other interesting cars and even did some racing back in the fifties and sixties.. Gerry with the car in front of his house

Hey Roy, I remember when Gerry used to sell Lotus Cortina parts. Way back when he would be at Jack Schroll's Mostly Mustangs original location on that side street (23rd?) in Oakland, late 70's. Jack also drove/tracked Gerry's GT40 and some incident/crash?/fender bender with the GT40 at Laguna Seca.
I never felt comfortable being around Gerry Scheberies, nice guy but something very un-trusting about him and leave it at that.
Same time period that you and I met, some 43-44+ years ago. If I remember you had that Grabber blue BOSS 429 with the white interior. Or it was just there at Mostly at the time.
That attached picture looks to have been taken up on Skyline Blvd up in the Oakland hills.
Anyway, this cobra that Gerry is selling, I'd be careful...just say'in.

Cheers,
~Earl J

Thanks for posting that link from 2016, I remember seeing it and was trying to find it & couldn't.   ;)

Hey Earl, Gerry used to race Lotus Super 7's and did sell Cortina parts. He was driving when the incident happened at Laguna Seca if I remember correctly. Gerry lived with about 2mi up the road from me and stop by in the Cobra once in a while. I didn't own the BOSS 9 and I don't remember the name of the guy who did. Mostly Mustangs was on the corner of 26th and West St's
