4 speed shifter hanging up coming out of reverse

ok,

i'm struggling trying to adjust this thing.........hangs up coming out of reverse and won't go in other gears.....what's your secret fix or replace?

I once had this issue with my 68 GT350 and it turned out to be the rubber grommets were worn out between the shifter and the shift mechanism.  The bushings were assembled without the large washers and they wore out very quickly.  Once I replaced them and added the washers things worked great.
