I have noticed that on a few convertible scoops, as well.  Do you know your build date?  Likely is a transition thing while using up parts during supplier mold revisions.

On '68s it isn't uncommon. Usually though it is the brake scoops.

I personally haven't noticed any upper scoop variations on the same cars.

There is some difference in the molding technique on the very early '68s v later cars.

Early seem to be hand laid and not smooth on the inside. Later cars are pressure molded as that is what Smith had created.

Not uncommon at all. I have seen a fair amount of 68's with mixed scoops.

That's interesting. A buddy of  mine had a '68 KR Fastback in the '80's, the car had been in an accident at one time and he assumed one of the brake scoops had been replaced because it didn't have the ridge in it. He very carefully ground it down to match the other scoop before he had the car repainted. It was a Lime Gold automatic car with Saddle interior.....
