It is a race car.  It may have never had a title.

Ideally if it was never titled the original Manufacturer Statement of Origin (MSO) would be included. Several states don't issue titles on older cars. I knew a guy who brought his old VW to CA from NY he had to post a bond to get a title in case someone later showed up and said it was stolen.
