1966 ten spoke center cap question please

Hi All,
  I just noticed a n.o.s center cap for sale and it looks like the
background color behind the logo is black .  I have not ever noticed this,
is that the way they all came?

The centre caps on the 10 spokes that came on 6S373 have the black background. Looks original and they are original wheels

Thanks for your thoughts so far!
If both ways are correct then I could paint the background
black on one and see what looks the best, the ones I have now
are natural chrome finish.
