I don't think Ford installed the cammer in any street car. When they first pitched it to NASCAR they pointed out that no street engine would use over 8' of timing chain. Ford decide to use in drag racing. When they built the first 10 A/FX Mustangs they didn't even have enough cammers for them 2 were shipped with standard 427s.
I consider all the fastback ones as 63 1/2. It's more about a mid year model than an actual date.
There was a R Code web site with a lot of info and registry. I think there is still a FB group but I don't do fakebook.
There isn't a breakdown of XL vs 500s - XL was the deluxe and people were buying these to make 1/4 mile runs not vacation trips so it's probably very low. As for me I want the R Code wagon they only know of one of those. The lightweights are the stars of these cars and included in the total. LW Galaxies are largely ignored in favor of Tbolts and the later R code Fairlanes.
63 R&Q 4,895 R is dual quad Q is single quad - both 427
64 R&Q 3,104
65 R 327
66 R 237
67 R 89 - some confusion exists here as they were marked 7 litre and some 428s may be mixed into the count.

Just a reminder that the 63 1/2 Ford Galaxie and Falcon Sprint were introduced in Monaco, where the Falcons were entered in the Monte Carlo Rally.

About cars being called half like the 63.5 Galaxie, 64.5 Mustang or the  68.5 CJ cars lets put it in model year perspective. To me back then the Model year was Aug-July so calling a March built car a 1/2 seems appropriate to me as they were 7-8 months into the model year.
