Would putting a fuse in line with amp meter and alternator increase safety in case of short. Obviously not stock but better than fire.

Would putting a fuse in line with amp meter and alternator increase safety in case of short. Obviously not stock but better than fire.

I suppose a properly rated in line fuse could increase safety from a potential wiring risk. A problem might have happened but in all my years I have not seen or heard of a significant problem in this context of the amp gauge wiring.  Of course it is up to each individual owner to decide what is best for their situation .
