Hood & Trunk lid Questions

2 questions. I understand some 67's had fiberglass and steel hoods and trunk lids. Would a fiberglass and steel hood also have a fiberglass and steel trunk lid? Could they be mixed? Also, would the undersides of the hood or trunk be painted from the factory for fiberglass and steel? Generally, is there a rule of thumb with respect to the underside paint, or not, of any 67 hood or trunk lid? Thanks

Typically the hood and trunklid match. That is not to say it wasn't possible from the factory but would be the exception and not the rule . The mixing of two different types can usually be explained by a number of different explanations the most common of which is a previous accident .For example there were far less steel innerstructure hoods /trunklids in the service system which lead to all fiberglass parts ending up on a early car that typically had steel inner structure parts.Of course a steel innerstructure part on a later car would be just as much out of place given they were typically used up on the earlier cars. Expect suspicion on a mix match. As far as the underside goes the steel innerstructure parts were typically body color and the all fiberglass were most typically semi gloss black . There were some all fiberglass hoods/trunklids that were just unpainted  fiberglass . They all still have varying amounts body color overspray.

Just asking:  Paint underneath on the hood is pretty much as defined. Steel underliner = painted body color, and an all fiberglass hood = blacked out bottom (ah, and fogged with color around the edges).
But, on the deck lids, steel underliner = painted body color.  Seems to me the all fiberglass deck lids also got painted body color.   Is this correct?

Do we know the date range that all fiberglass replaced steel inner structure pieces?

The all fiberglass trunk lids did NOT typically get painted body color.
