Description:

This 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350H was delivered new to J.D. Ball Ford of Miami, Florida, and was initially part of a partnership between Ford and the Hertz car rental company. It is finished in black with gold stripes over black and powered by a numbers-matching 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a Holley carburetor, electronic ignition, hood and side scoops, 14″ Magnum 500-style wheels, front disc brakes, a dash-mounted tachometer, an AM radio, floor mats, and a trunk liner. The car was acquired by the seller in late 2010, and service since 2019 has consisted of overhauling the carburetor and replacing the spark plugs, ignition coil, and battery. This GT350H is offered with a removed four-barrel carburetor and shocks as well as a letter from SAAC, a copy of the order sheet, manufacturer's literature, various awards, and a clean Texas title in the seller's name.

The car was refinished under previous ownership in black with gold stripes. Features include chrome bumpers, a hood scoop, quarter windows, and side scoops. The paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.

Chrome-finished 14″ Magnum 500-style wheels wear Hertz "Sports Car Club" center caps and are mounted with 215/60 front and 235/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with front disc brakes.

The black interior features front bucket seats and a folding rear bench with textured inserts. A Ford-branded AM radio is mounted in the center of the dashboard, under which is a sticker noting that the car is equipped with competition brakes. Additional equipment includes lap belts, crank windows, and rubber floor mats. The glovebox door has been signed by Carroll Shelby

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer, auxiliary gauges, and a dash-mounted tachometer. The odometer shows 36k miles and has rolled over. Approximately 300 miles have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The 289ci K-code Windsor V8 was originally rated at 306 horsepower and 329 lb-ft of torque in the GT350H. The engine bay is equipped with an export brace and a straight Monte Carlo bar, and the carburetor was overhauled in March 2020. Service in 2019 included replacing the spark plugs, ignition coil, and battery. A PerTronix electronic ignition system and a Holley carburetor have also been installed, and a removed carburetor is included in the sale.

The final digits of the engine block stamping read K152761 and match the Ford serial number shown on the document from Shelby American Automotive Club provided below.

Power is delivered to the wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a 9″ rear axle. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery below.

A serial number verification letter from Shelby American Automobile club will accompany the car. A copy of the order sheet for Hertz Corporation indicates optional equipment and a total price of $3,853.

Prices are realy strong now on muscle cars , and 66  GT350 are going up in the last year, so this is the price for this 66 nice original driver condition ...but each car is different so you can't say it's price for all the 66 ...

pchmotoho

And then you have your different kind of 66s which can really effect pricing (Carryovers, 4 speed Hertz, factory 4 speed, black non Hertz, documented Paxton.....)

I would say this is above "driver quality" real "driver quality would be more like all the others that have popped up and sold for 115K -150K that is real driver quality.

Yes carry overs are worth more unless, like the last one, that was smashed and abused when new, and CLIPPED FRONT.....NOT!!!

A hertz that is a factory manual car, is a no brainer, of course it is worth a little more.

It is starting to get like some of the 67 boys who think if the car is not a early 2 digit car, it aint worth nothing.....Is that what all of this is coming to? A abused, destroyed carryover is worth more than a "normal" numbered car? I'll take the normal worthless one then any day of the week as long as it is a decent car!
