I was just watching a live stream of the awards and see two 65s get awards.   One for Best in Class and the other, presumably, 2nd place.
They didn't 'project' the awards presenter's narrative but instead two hosts in the background kept talking about something else.
Anyone know these cars/owners?

Charles, is Paul's car 262?    Or is Paul not the class winner?

Paul's car was best in class, then Wayne's got the Amelia Award, which I guess is runner up.  Heard there were 7 or so cars in the class, a race car, Corvette and others.  The 2 65 Shelby's won out.

Again - humbled to be asked to show the car - let alone a class win. Was a great weekend!

Beautiful car Wayne, congratulations.  I saw your car at SAAC 42 when it won gold.  You must have had an amazing restorer.  Great to show the Amelia Island crowd some good old fashioned SHELBY muscle!

Congrats to Paul & Wayne.  Here is a photo of the beautiful trophy Paul won.  Appropriately, it is a cast stainless steel GT40.  The Amelia Island honoree this year was Jackie Ickx.  He won the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans in a GT40.
