Guess the hood ground strap got knocked somewhere along the line :)  Very nice car... just didn't want anyone coping ever detail blindly

Choose numbers of real clear picture.

Originally the strap was wrapped around the seal (examples on the right side) while owners often moved, bent or crushed them so that they would not contact the bottom side of the hood. Grounding didn't work anyway.  Ones on the left have been slightly modified to produce a gap between the strap and hood.

Evidence of the contact from the sharp corners is pointed out by the green arrows  - bottom structure of the hood

Earlier picture just had the strap rotated slightly counter clock wise
