R-Model Gas Tank Vent Hose

Here's another question for the group. Does anyone know what size fuel hose was for the R-Model gas tank vent line? I can't tell if it's a 5/16 or 3/8 ID fuel line.

On the topic of this vent, I'm going to build one of these tanks for my project and if anyone has a close-up photo (and/or dimensions) of that vent fitting on top of the tank that would be greatly appreciated.

How about a rear axle vent? Drill it out for the largest vent opening. I would also suggest a rollover valve in the vent hose.
