I bought the same kit from the same seller for the rebuild of the HIPO 289 going in my Hertz car (6S817). The kit is well represented in the online listing. I think I paid a bit less when it was offered a few years back. My builder initially wanted to use something else (they do quite a few race engines) but relented once I told him that the engine would rarely see over 5000 RPM. We have yet to run it but we're getting close to putting this engine in the car. My goal has always been to replicate the original factory setup as closely as possible. This build is using the original numbers matching block. Towards that end, I'm using a Howard's cam that duplicates the original. Another good source for that cam is Holman Moody as they helped develop the original. Good luck with the build!

I want to run my engine up to 6,000 rpm :)
I'm worried about the poor quality of parts from Asian; I don't want to break my engine.
Which Howard camshaft did you choose for your engine? Is it the 217322-14?
Thanks.

It was CL217322-14. Should go to 6000 with no problem. I'd also give a strong recomendation to Holman Moody. I don't think you can go wrong there.
