6S1134 On Its Way

After 15 plus years of collecting parts, 1134 is finally on its way to be stripped and repainted.  Not sure what lies under four coats of paint.  Hopefully, there will be no surprises.  This time she will not have stripes.

It looks good from 10 feet.  But when you are close all the imperfections show.

Yes, indeed.  I had a very good driver who took his time loading and unloading.  It was a little scary watching him drive on the freeway.  I could just picture the car flying off the back.

The body shop is using aircraft stripper.  I will only have pictures once it is stripped.

She is almost completely naked.  The paint stripper sold in CA is so environmentally friendly, it would not harm the paint.  They removed it the old fashion way.  There is some minor body work, but nothing drastic. I was hoping for a little, but bracing for a lot.  One never knows what is hidden beneath layers of paint.

Looks great. Will the front aprons be stripped and repainted as well? Will they look for markings?

No major problems. Just some very small, maybe dime size,  along the left front fender lip and in various places along the body.  Needless to say I was very happy to see such minimal damage, because the original owners rallied the car in Mustang club events in the '60's and 70's.  Paint can hide a multitude of problems.
