gabriel was the vendor for Ford ,  they never had Gabriel logos  only autoliote script

After Market replacement maybe. They were sold at autoparts store not in the Ford parts dept.The striders have been obsolete for about15- 20 years now. The striders are considered the next best thing equivelent to the assembyline shocks because besides being the OEM mfg they had a very similar look.  Like many products they changed and evolved over time . Unforunatly some of the newer versions fronts and rears have a different shape then the vintage assemblyline shocks which renders those useless for a historic look .

No ,Branda offered them for many years as replacements . They did not modify them in any way when they sold them.

Depends on your definition of "replacement". They were not something available over the counter by Ford as a service replacement. Through the years the markings on the shocks changed, shape of both front and rear changed. In the example you posted the outer jacket is smooth and straight unlike the originals used on Shelby's or available in the day. In the example you posted the markings in the shock for adjustment is different from originals or period over the counter ones.  But the Striders you posted could be used to replace the originals in the late 80's - early 90's
