Where to Buy New Mounting Kits for Koni Shocks - Front

I ordered mine directly from Koni NA. I got the mounting bushings, washers, and nuts for front and rear shocks, and the thread protector caps for the rear shocks. They may, or may not, be period correct, but that didn't matter to me. The protector caps are definitely not '60s period correct. Jim Cowles may still have the period correct protectors and front bee-hive bolts if you need them.

I'm pretty sure I ordered by part numbers provided by someone on this forum, possibly pre-crash and rebuild.

I'll look around, but will require additional time to retrace my efforts. I recall that whomever it was I spoke with was interested in helping me. You may have a similar experience, if time is of the essence.

Another phone number, Mason was easy to deal with and got my parts out to me quickly. all the hardware was correct except the front shock mounting nuts, they were nylock. NPD and Brant have the correct nuts.

Thanks for the direct line phone number.  The general number gets you the directory and I chose the option for parts, but no one ever answered.  As noted before, left messages and no return call.  I will try the direct number next time.

Please note that the original early Konis  #1326 and 1327 are different from the later #1388 and 1389.
This means the mounting kits are different.

Here is the kit I received from Performance Shock Inc.  Looks like the correct parts to me.  Will use my original nuts instead of the nuts provided.  With shipping the cost was $40.96.

Hello- My question is related to this topic. What about rebuilding the Koni shocks?  My car 2227 still has the original KONI shocks on the car - once i start the restoration work would like to have them restored. Does anyone have any experience utilizing a business for this service? I'm a DIY car guy but think this requires a specialist. I've contact Koni years ago and they offer a rebuilding service I just want to ensure the original dated housings are protected. rebuilding shocks to be functional again compared to restoring shock to original look and performance. When I spoke with the Koni people they didn't seem to understand the difference between rebuild VS restore. It is like a body repair shop saying restoration work is the same as body work, it is not.

So back to my question- does anyone have experiences with their Koni's being restored.  thank you fred

Fred ,maybe you are not aware but your car 2227 would be over 1000 cars built after SA stopped using Koni shocks.You might have found them on the car but they were not original to the car from the factory. Best of luck what ever you decide to do.

Yes, i knew that and thank you for keeping me honest! I was not intentionally misleading - just didn't think relevant to my question i was asking.  What i should have said was dealer installed or time period correct dated shocks. To my memory my Koni's dated June 1966 which is the month my car was sold or built? So no way SA could have installed.

In the future when someone reads this message and sent your Koni's to any business to be rebuilt. please leave a comment. i would like to know about your experience.

I have HEARD that when Koni rebuils your shocks that they CUT OFF the original top eye on the front shocks... might want to check that before they ruin an old original date code correct set.
