Both. It was supposed to have the Autolite carb like autos in the majority of 66 GT350's were meant to have but for some reason not clear at this time some still ended up with the 715 carb. The few auto 67 GT350 that received the 715 carb also would have a added bracket and throttle dashpot like the Autolite carb if original to the car.

here is an original 715 that was on an early '67 Automatic (Black) car, the yellow arrow dash pot unit on the bracket Bob is referring to.  (red call-outs are just original features)

Are the choke plate and choke plate shaft universal among the 9510 carburetors?

Seems they would be.

What does the red circle inside the port represent any difference from one 9510 to another?

Royce Peterson

Not sure what you are asking. 9510 is the base number for all Ford carburetors of any size be they 1 barrel, 2 barrel, 4 barrel etc of any year or brand.

Ok, Let me see if I can re-phrase, did "4V carburetors" that were used on any Shelby big block or 428CJ, 4 barrel that is, share the same choke plate and shaft?

i.e., Holley list:
4174, 4168, 4129, 4279, 4280, 4511, 4456, etc,etc...
These List carbs, did they share the same choke plate and shaft?

I believe so since a Holley 2v is essentially 1/2 of a 4v.

Not talking about 2V's, look these list numbers up that I posted and you'll see they're all 4V's ;)

shelbydoug

Let me phrase it this way, I have 1848, 1849, 1850, 4118, 3259, 4779, 4778, 4776, 3300, 3301, 6619, 4180, all use the same choke plate and choke plate rod.

I can't speak for all but I would think highly likely.

The only Holley 4v I can think of with a different choke is the street Dominator. I can't remember the list number now

Yea, may put a 4V on my 2V mustang with 4V adaptor plate  :o  JK ;)

Thanks SD

That would be the best money spent on upgrades for your car. A great performance addition for little money. Back in the day I converted many 2v to 4v applications and can say you will feel that upgrade . Good stuff

On early factory carbs there are 3 different choke flaps, 4 different rods, all shafts are dimensionally the same, but there are many distinguishing features.

I often show these comparisons on my AirFuelSpark page.
If you ever want pictures of all the differences of something, just ask and I'll collect the images.
