The Shelby has undergone some major upgrades from the time John owned 1806, all for the better speed and handling wise.   :)

It had to run an alternator!... all accessories, suspension, interior, body panels as factory equipped.  I just removed the alternator pulley which disengaged and free-wheeled one-way, charged the other.  In the photo you can just make out the tow-bar that was used to get it to and from the track.  456 gears were ran (IIRC). The automatic was replaced with a 4-speed, but it was essentially stock with a Ford Power Parts Stage 5 engine using the original block that still sits in the engine bay.
