I could hardly imagine a restoration error at this level of finish.

Wrong instrument bezel, wrong tach face & possibly more. Don't know how this car could have gone through two restoration shops that seemed to know so little about carryovers.

Ok, the difference is that "Slabside" is a derogatory term, IMO, to original Cobra owners, while 427 Cobra instead of 428 Cobra was an 'in period' term used by SA. Slabside was 'invented' in the 80's, most likely the 90's, by the replica group.

I'll just add, I heard the term "Slabside" being used as early as SAAC 7, 1982 Mostly by 427 owners  ;)

Fun day yesterday in the Road Art auction. I think the car prices also drove up parts prices. But as Vern said, "those parts are getting hard to find" lol. And where can you find all of the rarest '65 Shelby parts (horn switch, tach, battery caps, horn button) all for sale in one place. John had and awesome collection that few can rival.

Most certainly a great opportunity to be at the auction. Truly, this was the first event where I was more interested (overall) in the Road Art than the cars.

John A, as all now know, amassed a fantastic collection. And, it was great to see some familiar / new faces as well!
Nothing beats a classic!
