Makes you wonder if Uncle Sam took those boys off to Vietnam and if so, did they make it back home?

In my high school we had an enrollment of nearly 1000 students (Soph, Jr's,and Senior's) in my class of 1969 we had 2 that came back in coffins and another blinded. Some earlier classes didn't fare  so well.

Anyone got any pics or info. on City Motors, National City, CA?  For a dealership so close to SAI, I can find very little on them.

National City is about 135 miles form LAX. City Ford wasn't the "go to" dealer in the San Diego area.  Locals went to Jack @ Drew Ford in La Mesa. They stocked Hi Perf parts.

Randy-Do you know what the City Motors dealership "morphed" into...or did it go out of business?

I have two of my best guys on that subject right now. Digging up stuff like this is (at times) a slow process. Hang in there and I will have answers. I lost my main go to guy a few years back , so it takes a bit longer.

There have been photos on the forum of GT40s at dealerships, does any have a photo of a Ford Mk. IV from 1967 in a dealers showroom in period, meaning 1967 or 1968. I thought ? that the winning Le Mans car or one of the others where on a promotional tour of dealers after the race.

thanks, Mike

Young Ford, Ford dealership located at the corner of Stonewall and Independence Blvd. Charlotte, NC

Circa 1966

Shelby dealership, also prepped GT-350H's for service at the local Hertz rental agency.

Anyone else have history of their Shelby purchased or prepped through Young Ford?

Yes, I have seen them, but I need to find them again

It was the red, number 1 car. They were about three photos, in color and you could read a sign they had next to the car. It was roped off. Seems to me it was a Texas dealership?

6S1568,

My records on the 1965 GT350 indicate six cars delivered to Young Motor Co. in 1965:

5S223, 5S225, 5S246, 5S440, 5S473 and 5S498

My records on the Hertz cars indicate 10 cars were delivered to Charlotte, NC:

6S656, 6S676, 6S970, 6S979, 6S980, 6S1419, 6S1420, 6S1422, 6S1482 and 6S1910

I have not completed all 1966 deliveries as of yet still working on it.

My records on the 1967 indicates one car delivered to Young Motor Co. in 1967:

67200F1A0095

I do not have any records beyond 1967.

Dennis, My shipping notice, sent from Carol Stevers at S.A. to Walt Bergfield, I assume Hertz Corp. shows 6S1482, and my car 6S1568 shipped to Charlotte on the same day, March 31, 1966.
