I just wanted to share this.  Here is an original Magstar rim which was purchased back in 1968.  The seller informed me that his father was the original owner of a 67 GT350, and that he ordered 2 extra rims from the dealer to mount snow tires.  One was lost, but might still be at his fathers house which he will look for.  I thought this was interesting in 2 ways.  First, it shows the color of the raw metal centers on an early version of the rim.  Second, I've never seen an original box before.   Pretty cool.  The seller told me he was going to mount it on the wall, and use the rim to coil his garden hose around.  He certainly would have had the coolest garden feature in his neighborhood. ;)

Nice find!!  Any date code on the inside of the rim?

Maybe a close-up on the front center unfinished area?

  Thank you.  Lets remember this.

Close-up of Promotional photo thought to be January (?) '67...

Great find Brian.

I had an original Magstar spare, and it was the same color as the one pictured.

Let me know if you decide to sell it.  I would like to take off the center cap and weld a crank arm to the center.  I can then spin the wheel to wind up my garden hose.

ps...I'll use an original '67 window crank arm so it looks original and somewhat correct.

Seriously...how do you find this stuff, Brian?!?!   ;D

Well done!
Nothing beats a classic!

Christmas is around the corner and I'm going to donate food to the helpless and hungry women and children, all I need is a box—one box—exactly the size of that Magstar box. Yea, that it, for the poor children and women—that Box is the only box that will work. If you want to include the wheel for a good cause, that's fine too.
