Thanks, I thought they might have been part of it, but forgot they were called Eliminators, I was looking for a XR7 models
I remember one 68 XR7G from my dealer days, Moss or Highland Green with a Maroon interior sunroof, a/c and a 302 four barrel beautiful. I also remember this one had a limited slip differential
Belonged to a little old lady who drove it like a little old lady
Know any Cougar Hertz owners who want to be part of the MCACN exhibit?
Owned since 1971, NOW DRIVEN OVER 250,000 MILES, makes me smile every time I drive it and it makes me feel 21 again.😎

FYI all the Hertz XR7-G's were 390 powered. The first batch of show cars were X code 390-2V automatic C6 equipped. All 188 of the production versions used to fill the Hertz order were identical in terms of options. All were 390GT engines with C6 transmission, power steering, tilt away, AC, AM Radio and power disc / drum brakes. All were non - metallic exterior colors at the request of Hertz.

Highland Green with dark red (maroon???) interior is not one of the XR7-G color combinations produced either Hertz or non - Hertz. That would have been pretty ugly!

The closest I can find is a red XR7-G with dark blue interior and white vinyl top. Patriotic maybe?

I may have been dyed, as she always seemed to have a red/maroon interior. I remember changing seats from black to red on a colony park wagon she had in 1966. We did a lot of wheel, interior swaps back then it seemed

I will reach out to some of the nicer ones and send you a PM with results.

In the world of muscle cars the MCACN show is the pinnacle of shows. I have been in contact with Bob Ashton about a display of Hertz cars for 2021.
First do you think there is enough interest ?
Second can we can enough cars to fill the display area
I would like to get one of each of the 66 colors, (black, white, green, red, and blue) plus at least one each of the 68-69 cars.
I have already gotten a few volunteers, a rare white and blue 66Hertz and a MCA and SAAC gold winning 1969 GT350
If you ever wanted to display your car at a show, this is the one !
If you have been to the MCACN show. You've probably seen the Studebaker and Nash Nutz displays, really cool cars but the Hertz Shelby's are truly unique
So do you want to be a part of history ?
Send me your information and I'll put it together and send to Bob Aston to see if we can make it work

Bump, still looking for Blue/Gold and White/Gold, if you have registered please let me know and make sure you have designated its for the Hertz Invitational
Show is filling up quickly here's what Bob Ashton recently posted on MCACN Facebook
We have blown by the 450 cars registered mark at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, way ahead of schedule, leaving us with fewer than 100 remaining car spots. There is plenty of excitement building up, and tomorrow the state of Illinois enters the 5th (final!) stage of the Ignite Illinois reopening plan. Whew!"

Also looking for Hertz memorabilia (suit bag, drink glasses, signs, tote bags, etc) to display in a locked display case.

One more try, still looking for a 1966  White/Gold and Blue/Gold Hertz car
Car does not have to be perfect, just an honest example of what they were
PM if interested

There is a blue one on BaT. Maybe the next owner might want to bring it to MCACN before it gets home? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1966-shelby-mustang-hertz-gt350h-13/

We had a fantastic response to the display. Having different colors and years really added to the delight of the crowd. I can't thank everyone enough to those who displayed their cars and others who helped me locate stuff for the show. Hopefully the "Hertz Goodie Bag" was at least a little payback for all of your efforts and hardwork
Met some many people over that few days that would be impossible to name all of the names who thanked us for the display
It turned out awesome
Thanks again

That's terrific Steve - really wish I could have been there to see it.

Glad to have contributed and it feels good that my father-in-law's presence is still felt in a small way.

Looking forward to seeing pictures.

Wasn't much hard work on my part. A wash and a wax then a 20 mile drive over with the redhead.  Easy as pie.  Leaving was easy too.  The weather was ideal.  No rain, no freezing rain and no snow.  Just moderate temperatures driving there and driving back tonight. And...the headlights did not flicker off.  Thanks Steve, good seeing you again.  And same for Jim.
