Can anyone help identify this CS006 engine?

A good friend of mine just came by and showed me some pictures of a very interesting engine. It apparently has CS006 stamped in multiple locations. It is supposedly built on a 460 dimension engine.
It is very exotic looking as you can see in the pictures, cast for a dry sump application, all aluminum. Apparently the valve covers, fuel rails and a lot of the AN fittings were plated in gold Or copper when he got it. Help

Definitely SVO A460 heads and intake manifold.

It could be a SVO A460 block, but those are custom main caps, not the SVO caps that come with the block. Can't see enough of the block to be 100% sure.

The skirts and pan/sump are aftermarket, maybe custom made.

627 cubic inches is definitely doable with an SVO Block

Edit, I missed that it is an aluminum block. Mine are iron SVO so that means I am not sure who's block it is. Maybe Alan Root's or Carroll Carter's?

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it very much. Any idea what the large casting is in the left side of the block? I assume it's for an oil pump drive for the dry sump. Any chance that the CS006 stamps on this engine could mean it was from Shelby? I thought I would contact Shelby America engine shop and see if they have any thoughts on it.

I think you are correct, a gear driven dry-sump pump.

Actually, looking at it again, maybe it is belt-driven outside of the casing.

     460 based aluminum Alan Root block , SVO A460 heads , Crower crank and rods. A 4.600 bore and 4.75 stroke is possible but would be 632 CI.  Yes 99% sure it is a Carroll Shelby Engine Co built engine by the CS006. The engine co. was bought by Bill Denbeste and moved from So Cal to Nor Cal , so "I" am not sure they still have the build information. The large extra accessory drive was standard on those blocks and could be configured as an oil pump but was most often used to locate the distributor ( magneto) when a Rootes supercharger was used. Aluminum main caps were an option back then. Ford sold the blocks and eventually Raceparts Distribution Inc ( gone now) took over block manufacturing , eventually selling the rights to Carroll Carter who still sells them today. Blue Thunder valve covers , custom made oil pan.

   Denbeste bought Shelby Engine Co. Joe @ Denbeste may be able to look up the information for you. tell him Randy Gillis  told you to call. He might hang up immediately ! Seriously Joe is a great guy I deal with all the time.

+1 on Joe at Denbeste. He built the engine in my KR.  Joe always has been a nice guy and willing to help.
