1966 brake proportioning valve

original brake proportioning valve is leaking.
is there a rebuilt kit available?
who is rebuilding them?
what are the correct finishes?
pix would be nice to see.

Kits are available at VA Mustang and NPD and others. The original color on many of them was grey. I have seen some painted black and some left natural. White Post Restorations rebuilds them and in the process re-sleeves them.

Some early 65 GT350's were gray . Later 65 and all of 66 were painted black to identify the special adjusted C5ZX (Shelby) proportioning valve. None were natural whether on regular Mustang or GT350.

They all appear to be semi-gloss that I've seen. Very popular and available at the time and and might have provided slightly better protection against the rust

i only notice moisture on the floorpan seam(under car) where paint started to peel. im now starting to think its weeping from a previously bad master cylinder.

Believe they are designed so that when the seal leaks the fluid is directed through a channel and out the bottom, pass the large thick rubber band sort of seal that goes around the cylinder. I posted a engineering drawing/drawing a month or two back if you want to do a search. Might have cropped it but if you want might be worth a look

do the valves leak when car is just sitting or does peddle pres need to be applied?
