Brian,
I believe the correct transmission for a 3/22/67 build would be an HEH BX. The RUG N was only used for very late cars.

Jon, That is good input My 4/25 and 5/1 built cars still have the HEH BX transmissions. Your car was built on 5/4.

Dave,

Can you confirm when the RUG- started in production?  How difficult is the HEX-BC to find compared th the RUG-?  Depending on the response I may have a case available for the OP

I don't know the actual date the RUG transmissions started. I need to research it further. The earliest I have heard of is Jon's car. Which is 5/4, three days after my car was built with a HEH BX transmission. I see both the RUG N and HEH BX transmissions around. I don't think finding either is a problem.

Confirming 5/4/67 San Jose born date and adding that it is VIN stamped to the car.

I'll try to get my fat ass under there soon to confirm if rug-n or rug-n1

Get the serial number off the tag also while your at it :)

Don't have all my cars in the spreads sheets identified my current owners so don't know if this is one I already have and wanted to compare

Thanks

Wow! Have always been under the impression, from internet research, that all 67 GT350s got the RUG N or N1. Have been browsing the forums for at least 10 years and have heard never heard of the HEH toploader in 67s, only Ns and N1s. Is there any definite earliest date of introduction? What would the judge accept or decline? Thanks for all the responses.

I think that the judges will expect to see the HEH BX trans given your cars build date .
