Last Ride of the Year

As I've done for many years on Dec31st, I'll take my "Last Ride of the Year" with the  the "Dumpster Fire of a Year" 2020 hopefully behind us I'm hoping that 2021 will be better. Since I'm pretty much been self quarantined since March I won't have a lunch stop like I've done in previous years. The route I'm looking at will take me down through Southern Maryland from Chesapeake Beach into St Mary's county at Solomons and back up through Charles County, should be a nice 100+ mile trip.
Anyone want to tag along? Will probably start around noon or so

Have fun!!! My Dec 31 trip was always to leave work in downtown LA and end up following the Rose Parade route to get home. It was just a chance to see an interesting cross section of humanity - and a few trick cars doing the same thing. The serious cruising of the parade route always started at sundown and went until about 3am when the cops finally closed the streets. Lots of fun back in the 60s and 70s. Open headers burnouts etc all under the watchful eye of at least 5 cops per block. But not this year.........

With reluctance and tremendous disappointment, the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association announces that, in accordance with Governor Newsom's Phase IV re-opening schedule, and after thoughtful consideration of the restrictions and guidelines in place as a result of COVID-19, we are unable to host the 2021 Rose Parade.

It's only been canceled 3 times 42,43 and 45. They held a token parade in 1944. It's only rained on the parade 10 times since 1890. 1955 and 2006 most recently. I have it on good authority the Valley Hunt Club will be hosting their usual gathering at their club house for members - not the Wrigley Mansion one you see on TV. http://www.valleyhuntclub.com/web/pages/home

Once they salt down the roads I shut my car down for the season.  So I have started winter projects on the car so not drivable until spring.

Took a little shorter ride (about 40 miles) but got a lot of thumbs up and flashing lights and horn blowing.
Can't wait until better weather and more car shows

I guess someone who developed this area in San Diego was a big CS fan.

We did take the barn find 1969 Corvette 427 roadster out for its first spin since 1975-76 today. A few teething problems ( fan for heater works sometimes, brake light switch needs adjusting, e-brake needs adjusting, hood does not latch correctly on the passenger side and a few other things. It pulls very strong and had virtually no squeaks or rattles
It was short little ride around Mayo
The ride on the 31st took me along back roads down to Prince Frederick, over to Benedict, up along the Patuxent and back through Wayson's Corner area. Took a lot of the old roads and stayed off Rt/4/2 pretty much. Nice little ride

Actually there was a large mostly low rider cruise on the parade route New Year's Eve and the Long Beach sultans car club had a cruise on the parade route New Years morning.My 67 attended both.....
