All - what is the "correct" color and material of the intake gasket on the heads?   I know the front and back are cork.
and - what is the best source for the intake gaskets?

thank you -

Off white with blue is one version.  Probably a asbestos composite material. They can be very hard to find . I have a set that a friend is supposed to be sending me and I don't want to bug him but I have been waiting for a very long time, hint hint wink wink. maybe he will see this post. :)

Another picture for the thread and members

Asa you can make out the blue print/ink versions were provided by Raybestos

One way for dealerships and others to purchase them was in a box of ten individual intake to head gaskets

Another (earlier) Ford service replacement.  We used this set on SFM5S003 last year.

I'll have to take photos of the sets that I have and post them, there is script on them but I have not looked at them in awhile.

The oil pan gaskets also were unique and identifiable when viewed externally from the front of the engine.

These are from Ford gasket kits.....

Sure about that?  I've seen them offered by obsolete parts dealers as correct, but have not run across that style with those markings in any Ford service replacement major overhaul gasket kits.

I am 100% positive. These gaskets came out of Ford "Valve Grind Gasket Kit" packages I opened. I have at least three of these kits and all have the same intake manifold gaskets. I still have them in their original packaging with the other related gaskets.

The part number for the kitS is "C7AZ-6079-B".

I have never seen evidence of that type being used on 65 and 66. Given it is a 1967 part number may indicate why we don't see that style on 65/66. I for one have not seen that style used on 67 GT350 ether . I have only seen the off white with blue marks on fuel pump and intake gaskets regardless of if 65/66 or 67 Shelby. I suppose C7AZ-6079-B kit is another example of service parts sometimes being different then assemblyline parts.

'65-66 gaskets are like the ones Charles and others posted. "Service gaskets" usually had blue ink stamped "RM" ( for Raybestos Manhatten) who made the material. many "assembly line" '65 and earlier gaskets had red ink and were phased out in favor of the blue ink versions . There are NO changes to the gasket itself , only the ink color. Begining in '67 , The gasket was changed  to the style posted by CSX 2259. It is also at this point where a transition was made from RM material to "black ink" Kilingeflex material like the ones I have for Bob . The ones I have for Bob are my last  '67 set but I have 3 sets of red ink RM sets available at $125 / set shipped.   Gaskets are easily damaged in shipping and I carefully package them. PM (like Bob did) me and I will get a set packaged.

Take off set provided by a friend from a 65 engine

Not sure if others have taken notice but the "notch" detail along the top edge of each side gasket is interesting. In the pictures we have no notch as well a single and a double

A buddy got these for his project. They have a VG logo which we assume is for Victor Gaskets.

Note no notches in the top straight edge.
