Question, was ATF Plastics one of Shelby's fiberglass parts suppliers?

Also, on Ebay there is 67 fiberglass hood. item# 174567655817  Does this look like an original hood or old Repro?

Thanks

It looks like a genuine A/C or service hood but if your car doesn't have A/C, it's not "original" to the car.
You can debate which hood is more "common" but finding an original non-louvered hood is a real "challenge".

I thought that later in the run of cars that louvered hoods were used on non A/C cars do to supply issues?

There is some anecdotal evidence to support the possibility of the louvered hoods being used on non AC cars at the very end of 67 Shelby production.

also, the louvered hoods seem to have been inventoried as replacements and installed on cars back in the day.

The '67 I had was damaged in 1969 and received a louvered original as a replacement as that was all that was available at the time.

The replacement for crashed hoods back in the day is the most common and logical reason for the louvered hoods ending up on cars that weren't built at the end of production. The louvered hoods were what was left over in Shelby inventory and transferred to Ford for replacement inventory . When SA ran short of regular hoods it didn't make sense to do a run of regular hoods so close to the end of production when louvered hoods were available unused. Although more expensive to make the louvered hoods worked just as good to use regardless of if AC or not so the story goes. FYI if you ordered a hood from Ford you got what they had .You didn't have a choice. I am aware of several stories confirming that happenstance from back in the day by previous owners.

I never got comfortable with seeing the heat waves rising out of the louvres on a hot day. I'd rather have a smooth hood.
