#0738... I didn't read the whole article, but figured it out from the window sticker.  Some cool pics.

Neat story, I happen to know the orig owner of a 68 GT500 , fastback,  highland green , non ac, 4sp . He still has it in a shed. Hubcaps on the wall. Does not run now. Just sits and he will not sell it. He said they will lay him to rest in it. LOL

I'm an original owner of a early 1968 Shelby GT350 and wonder if SAAC knows how many Original Owners there are.
There were 3 who told their stories at one of the conventions. May be Pete Disher would like to start a list?

Appears to be the Autolite carburetor and it has the idle compensator valve in the pcv hose.  That is a priceless photo

Probably a nice addition to thecoralsnake  ;)

That valve and carb were only on early cars? Looks like the smog pump has been removed?

The vacuum hose doesn't look like it's going through the special plastic clip on the shock tower.

I think the smog pump is there. You can see the top of the adjustment bracket.

All cars started with the Autolite carb, several early cars never got changed to the Holleys

Its a rare shot for sure. The square paper tag on the cowl has been tormenting me for years

Oh yea. I see the bracket now. I was distracted by the dark circle on the front of the head.

My next question to you was going to be what looks like a paper tag. ;D

Dont see a battery heat shield?
Some 68 factory documentation reads AC only on heat shield although I have seen some on non air cars.

Directly behind air cleaner and above seal for hood on cowl. Looks similar in size to Dearborn, 1969 paper tag
