Thanks for letting me take it for a spirited drive around the block!

Plenty of good memories to come!

Love the man-tires. What sizes? 15x7" in back?

Britton

Thanks for the compliments. I keep making excuses to go out to the garage. :D Wheels are 15x7 AR Torq Thrusts with 225/60/15 all around. Once weather clears up, I'll get some better pictures.

Good choice on the driver wheels IMO.

I notice in the picture of the engine bay of #2645 that the thermostat housing is not painted. Most pictures I've seen of 'restored' engine show the housing painted blue.

Is this another variation or running change in production?  What would you expect to see on #2751 from the factory?

Many thanks for any information you can share.

David.

To the questions above...I don't think that is a running change, perhaps as a result of required maintenance and cleaning-up of existing parts at the same time.

Yes, painted blue is what would be expected based on known/believed practices.  The coil location would be another item that is not typical of assembly line practice.

Looks to be a very nice car!

Agree not a running change. may be due to maintenance or from the fact that paint didn't stick as well to aluminum as it did to steel. You will see the same on some old pictures of the timing cover and or the water pump on some examples

Housing, bypass hose, clamps and attaching hardware were reused when the intakes were change after run test. Would expect to see some damage to the paint from the removing and reinstallation steps

What is considered the typical coil location? Anything that would make it vary?

Did you happen to see these two threads a a start? They both are focused - or started out focused on Thermactor GT350's that were built in the spring or so of 67

Rest typically just like 65-6 GT350's and 289 Mustangs without Thermactor

JD and Jeff are correct that there are some engine related items that are not assemblyline correct due to prior owner maintenance. The coil type and mounting location, some hoses/clamps, etc have been replaced over the years.  The thermostat housing should be blue as indicated. I am actually in the process of addressing most of these items.

Hi Britton.

Looking pretty good.  Please tell me what size tires you put on.  Same front and back?

Thanks
