What is the best way to removed blue Shelby stripe decals from the base of a door?

I would try a hair dryer first to soften the adhesive, heat gun can burn paint.  Be extra careful on the edges, paint can pull off if the prep work wasn't done properly.  A solvent can be used to remove adhesive from paint.  (Kerosene, gas, WD40)

Go to your local auto parts store and pick up a small attachment for a drill motor.  It is a rubber wheel used specifically to remove decals stickers etc. Fast, effective, and no harm to paint, you will dig it!

DO NOT USE WD40 if there is any paint work to be done in the foreseeable future. WD 40 is the bane of painters. The slightest bit causes fish eyes in new sprayed paint and it is extremely hard to get out of the pores of the paint when doing prep.

The decal rubber erasers for drills work very well, with little to no heat build up if used properly. These erasers also work well for removing the adhesive residue left on wheels when you remove wheel weights.
