new purchase questions

One of my best friends just purchased a March 13  built 68 GT350 Auto. A few  things on it to me. The first is the OO told the second owner(my friend is the 3rd owner) that the autolite carb/aluminum intake is original to the car. The second is that the shift handle is chrome and not woodgrain. Again, supposed to be original to the car and were they still being used in the middle of March? (TCS says late cars got woodgrain). Were the side scoops changed around this time(minor change to it). Thanks. BTW I told him to go to http://www.thecoralsnake.com/ and brush up. He isn't a FB/forum type kind of guy. Since he has a 69 B9 and 69 B2 along with 11 other cars its about time he bought a Shelby. Gary
